As an expat who moved to the Netherlands, our founder experienced this problem firsthand — suddenly needing to track news from multiple countries, where important updates about visa policies, tax regulations, and local emergencies were buried in noise. He didn't just miss headlines — he missed news that directly impacted his life. So he built Mera to solve this.

I built Mera to solve a problem I experienced firsthand: we spend hours every day hunting for information that matters, while most of what we find doesn't. My vision is simple — information should come to you when it's relevant, not trap you in endless feeds.
I've been a software engineer for nearly a decade. I spent four years at Meta (2022–2025) building recommendation systems at billion-user scale, navigating GDPR compliance, and deploying GenAI in production. The core innovation — privacy-preserving personalisation without centralised data collection — is something I built from scratch.
